Crystal healing is a lovely way to work with earth energies to support and balance your energy body. Each crystal has its own energetic properties and specifics about what it can aid with but one simple way to start learning about them is to know that they can correspond to the chakras and help clear and balance them. The color of the crystal is usually a good indicator of the chakra it will help with. For more info about the chakra system, see my post on the basics of the energy system but here is a simple overview of the chakra system and their associated colors and the issues they relate to:

Root Chakra – Red – Security, Stability, Groundedness

Sacral Chakra – Orange – Creativity/Sexuality

Solar Plexus Chakra – Yellow – Personal power, Confidence

Heart Chakra – Green/Pink – Love (Self and Others), Relationships, Emotions

Throat Chakra – Blue – Communication, Truth

Third Eye Chakra – Indigo – Intuition

Crown Chakra – Purple – Connecting to Divine/Spirit/Higher Self

If there is a particular chakra you feel needs balancing select a crystal with a color that corresponds. You may just intuitively know or feel if a chakra is unbalanced or you may be able to deduce this by looking at current concerns you are facing in your life. For example, if you are having difficulty communicating your needs or thoughts your throat chakra may need some assistance. If you are working on confidence issues your Solar Plexus may need a boost. You can hold, carry, or wear (my favorite!) the crystal with you and it will gently work to help balance that area energetically. Or spend some time laying down and relaxing with a crystal on each chakra point for a full chakra balancing!
